Equine Help

Your horses health and welfare will always be my main priority. With 20+ years experience and an academic background with horses, your horses are in safe hands!

In the past I have often found myself in a situation where I could do with a little extra help, or someone to simply just check on my horse whilst I am stuck at work, away for the day, or simply needed a break (there is no shame in that!).

Basic holiday packages available. If you require a more bespoke package please get in touch.

Services include:

• Turning your horse out, returning later to bring them back in. I know horses strive off routine, so I will do my best to book slots as close to the horses usual routine as possible.
• Daily mucking out, or skipping out if you deep litter.
• Feeding and refilling hay nets, or placing hay on the floor and ensuring they have fresh/clean water each day. Please let me know prior to services if hay needs wetting, soaking, or steaming.
• A full check over to ensure you horse has not got any injuries, cuts, bites, skin conditions (such as rain scold, sweet itch, or any reactions) or developing any new stereotypical/unwanted behaviours (please inform of any stereotypical behaviours during consultation). You will be updated ASAP of any issues. Please note, it is your responsibility to inform and supply any lotions or supplements prior to services.
• Change of rugs, or using my own initiative to decide if your horse needs a rug or a different type/weight rug. I will never put a rug on a dirty/wet horse.
• Picking feet out and a quick groom as standard. If you require a thorough groom or wash then an additional charge will be applied.
• Standing in for the vet, farrier, dentist, or other services. A full report will be issued to you. It is advised that you are easily contactable during the visit time in case treatment is required or any issues arise.
• Pop-in welfare checks. Whether your horse is stabled or out in the field, I provide pop-in visits to check your horse is comfortable and healthy. These visits can also include a change in rug, quick feed, top up of hay, apply lotion or fly spray, and wipe those leaky eyes they get from those pesky flies!
• As a horse owner myself I know how much you miss your horse, and the daily worry you have when leaving your horse to go holiday. After each service you will be sent pictures/videos and updates to put your mind at ease so you can truly relax (as even us horse owners deserve some time off!).
• I have experience working with foals and youngsters, and horses with all kinds of behavioural needs.
